New Quad Club for NSW

There's a new Quad club on the horizon for NSW situated in Port Stephens. Wade Thomas, who is the founder of the Marlin Quad Racing Club states "After living for a year in WA, I arrived home in Port Stephens with ATV fluid in my veins and with a playground like Stockton Beach and Dunes at my door step I decided to get serious about Quading, after hitting the internet I found that NSW was seriously behind the 8 ball for ATV orientated clubs and events, so I have taken up the fight on behalf of the NSW riders and am currently in the process of forming a club, MARLIN QUAD RACING CLUB NSW the club will cater for the social, and family style riders with weekend trips and ride days along with the serious side of things we will have a national race team to take on the interstate competition and hopefully bring some of the big racers to NSW."  While thier web site is currently under construction there is a [rokdownload menuitem="106" downloaditem="40" direct_download="true"]downloadable membership form[/rokdownload] or Wade can be contaced via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Talent from Tassie

Our most southern state has not managed to produce much in the way of motocross talent in the last few years, but that has changed now with the Sheridan brothers Clinton and Troy having joined the Can Am Xteam and heading over to the mainland for the recent SA and VIC Titles MX events. Better known as enduro riders that occasionally do a few grass track MX events the boys have shown great adaptability in coming over here and getting on some proper MX tracks, Clinton not having ever jumped a quad before coming over to practise for the SA titles. Despite this the boy have been able to post some credible results with Clint takeing out the Clubman class at both te SA and Vics whilt liitle brother Troy took out the Open Class at the SA Titles and rode well to a respectable 5th place in the Vic Titles Pro Class against the likes of his Xteam team mates Jake and Mitch Van Vliet. The brothers are next planning to head to Coolum in a few weeks for the MX Nats to see how they fair on the national stage.

Dirt Comp Magazine get ATV'ed

A couple of months ago I was approached by Randall Kilner, the Editor of Dirt Comp magazine, to see if I could maybe do a write up about the Thumb Pump ATV Festival for his magazine. UTV driver and owner of the thesxssite.com Gavin Greaves  had made the suggestion to Randall and with the UTV class being run at this years event it made sense for this kind of offroad motorsport mag to pick up a story on some SxS racing but when Randall mentioned that he might like to run some more ATV content we jumped at the opportunity to get involved in bringing quads back into the mainstream print media in Australia. The next edition (E25) is due out on Monday the 11th of July and will contain various articles from both myself and Mick on ATV events and features.

Already Randall and I have been planning the ATV content for the next issue so it looks like it is full steam ahead to keep ATV's in print, hopfully with some industry support build up over the next few issues. With this collaboration of web and print media from different sources we will likley genereate some cross over content that ties together, like articles in the mag that refer to a video we may have done on a similar topic on the site. Dirt Comp will also be making and effort to cover as many major ATV events as possible in the future including MX, Enduros and Desert Racing and what ever else we may be able to get to.
